Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. We do not sell
your personal information to anyone. To better protect your privacy
we provide this notice explaining our online information practices
and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected
and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available
on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable
information may be requested.
Acceptance of Privacy Policy
Your use of this Site, including any dispute concerning
privacy, is subject to this Privacy Policy and under the User Agreement.
BY USING OUR SITE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES SET OUT IN THIS
PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR USER AGREEMENT. We reserve the right to modify
this Privacy Policy at any time by posting changes on this page.
Please check the effective date at the top of the page to determine
if the Policy has been modified since you last reviewed it. Your
continued use of any portion of our Site following posting of the
updated Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected
or submitted on the website www.getaheadmath.com. On some pages,
you can order products, make requests, and register to receive materials.
The personally identifiable information we collect about you is
all saved in a profile that is kept on our server. The profile includes
not only that information but the options you have chosen to receive
communications from us and to have your information shared with
others. You can help us maintain the accuracy of your profile by
notifying us when you change your address, title, phone number or
e-mail address. If at any time you wish to update your information,
stop receiving communications from us or opt-out of having your
information shared with others, you may email us at info@getaheadmath.com
and update your profile. Please include your current contact information
so that we can make the appropriate corrections. Any changes that
you make to your profile will be effective two (2) business days
later.
The Way We Use Information
We use the information you provide about yourself
when placing an order to complete that order. We use third parties
to accept and process credit card payments for purchases of products
on our Site and share necessary personal information with them (subject
to their privacy policies and applicable law).
We use the information you provide about someone
else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm
delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties
except to the extent necessary to complete that order.
We use return email addresses to answer the email
we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and
are not shared with outside parties.
Registration. You can register with our website
if you would like to receive our catalog as well as updates on our
new products and services. Information you submit on our website
will not be used for this purpose unless you fill out the registration
form. If you do register, from time to time we may send you e-mail
messages to inform you of our products and services that we believe
may be of interest to you, such as new features and services, special
offers and updated information. Our newsletters (see below) may
contain code that enables our database to track your usage of newsletters,
including whether the e-mail was opened and what links were clicked.
We will combine this information with other information we have
about you and may use this information to improve your experience
with our Site and provide customized e-mail communications to you.
Once you are a registered user you can update your profile and you
may elect to provide additional information (e.g. a nickname and
user preferences)
Use of Non-Identifying Information.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design
our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell
an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area
on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled
out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that
could be used to identify those individuals.
Disclosure Under Certain Circumstances.
Please understand that we may disclose personal information if required
to do so by law or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure
is necessary to: (1) comply with the law or legal process served
on us; (2) protect and defend our rights or property; or (3) act
in an emergency to protect someone’s safety.
As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets,
and depending on the transaction, your personal information may
be one of the transferred assets. In the event that we are acquired
by another company, your personal information may be part of the
assets transferred to the acquiring party.
IP Address.
An Internet Protocal (“IP”) address is a unique string
of numbers that is assigned to your computer by your Internet Service
Provider. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its
IP address. We will use your IP address to help diagnose problems
with our server and to administer our Site. Your IP address may
also be used to gather broad demographic information.
Cookies.
A “cookie” is a small data file that can be placed on
your hard drive when you visit certain Web sites. We use cookies
to collect, store and sometimes track information for statistical
purposes to improve the services that we provide. If you are a registered
user, we will use a cookie to save your settings and to provide
customizable and personalized services. These cookies do not enable
third parties to access any of your personally identifiable information.
Additionally, be aware that if you visit other Web sites you may
be required to accept cookies. We do not control use of those cookies
expressly disclaim responsibility for information collected through
them.
What Are Your Options to Control Use of Your Personally
Identifiable Information?
Although most users of our Site tell us that they value receiving
our newsletters, special promotions and information regarding service
provided by others, we recognize the importance of providing you
with choice and control. If you would rather not receive e-mails
about new products, promotions or other noteworthy news, please
email us at info@getaheadmath.com and specify you would like to
opt out of information. You may also contact us by U.S. Mail at
Get Ahead Math 70 S. Lake Ave. #900, Pasadena, CA 91101 Attention:
Opt-Out.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy,
and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place
appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard
and secure the information we collect online. Although we will exercise
reasonable care in providing secure transmission of information
between your computer and our servers, we cannot ensure or warrant
the security of any information transmitted to us over the Internet
and we accept no liability for any unintentional disclosure. We
protect the transmission of credit card information through industry
standard SSL (secure socket layer) encryption.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially
important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information
at our website from those we actually know are under 13. We assume
that products purchased through credit card means are purchased
by adults or minors supervised by parent or guardian. We respect
the privacy of children and parents and are committed to complying
with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. On those
areas of our Site that ask for age, we do not collect personal information
from individuals that identify themselves as under the age of 13
except in those limited circumstances where we believe that such
collection is permitted under COPPA. If a user indicates that he
or she is under the age of 13 than all personal data collected during
the registration process is automatically deleted except that we
may retain and use limited information, such as the child’s
e-mail address, for a limited period of time, in those cases where
we believe that the collection and use of such information is permitted
under COPPA. If a parent believes that his or her child has provided
us with personal information, he or she can contact us via e-mail
or postal mail as listed below. We will promptly delete the information
upon learning that it relates to a child under the age of 13.
We believe that parents should supervise their children’s
online activities and consider using parental control tools available
from online services and software manufacturers that help provide
a kid-friendly online environment. These tools can also prevent
children from otherwise disclosing online their name, address and
other personal information without parental permission.
Links to Other Sites.
Our Site contains hyperlinks and pointers to Internet
Sites maintained by third parties. These links are provided for
your reference only. We do not control, operate or endorse in any
respect information, products or services on third party sites and
are not responsible for their contect. Many third party sites have
privacy policies that differ from ours. This Privacy Policy only
covers our Site and not any other site. While we make every effort
to keep your information secure, we do not control the policies
of other sites.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may make changes in our privacy policy from time
to time. When we do so, we will post the revised privacy policy
on our Site with a link at the bottom of our home page. Our home
page will also contain a statement notifying readers that the policy
has changed and the effective date of that change.
