Technical Support Frequently Asked Questions


Listed below is a list of frequently asked questions that users have posed as a result of using the program. Each question is followed by one or more possible solutions to the problem. If the problem persists after following the directions below, please contact Get Ahead Learning.

My student can’t log into the program. A message appears saying “User Not Found.”
1. Check to ensure that the student entered his/her user name and password correctly.
2. Check to ensure that the correct Student Management Center Account ID and Password were entered.
3. From the Student Login screen, click the “About” tab.
4. Click “Settings.”
5. Click “More Settings.”
6. When prompted, enter “getmath.”
7. At the bottom of the screen, enter the correct SMC Account ID and Password. This information is printed on the inner panel of your installation kit.

My student can’t log into the program. A message appears saying “Internet connection error.”
1. The computer is not connected to the internet.
2. Follow your school’s protocol or try using another computer.

I am attempting to take a test or quiz, but nothing happens.
1. Check that Macromedia Flash Player was installed.
2. Insert Get Ahead Math 3.5 Disc 1 into your CD-ROM drive.
3. A message will appear saying that Get Ahead Math 3.5 has already been installed. Click “OK.”
4. Double-click on “My Computer” (which may be on your desktop or in the Start Menu).
5. Right-click the “CD-Drive.”
6. Click “Explore.”
7. Double-click the folder named “Installers.”
8. Double-click “Install Flash Player 6” to begin the installation.

I am attempting to use the worksheets but when I select them, they do not appear.
1. Check that Adobe Reader was installed.
2. Insert Get Ahead Math 3.5 Disc 1 into your CD-ROM drive.
3. A message will appear saying that Get Ahead Math 3.5 has already been installed. Click “OK.”
4. Double-click on “My Computer” (which may be on your desktop or in the Start Menu).
5. Right-click the “CD-Drive.”
6. Click “Explore.”
7. Double-click the folder named “Installers.”
8. Double-click “Install AdobeInstall.exe” to begin the installation.

I am attempting to use the video tutorials, but when I select them, they do not appear.
1. Check that Windows Media Player was installed.
2. Insert Get Ahead Math 3.5 Disc 1 into your CD-ROM drive.
3. A message will appear saying that Get Ahead Math 3.5 has already been installed. Click “OK.”
4. Double-click on “My Computer” (which may be on your desktop or in the Start Menu).
5. Right-click the “CD-Drive.”
6. Click “Explore.”
7. Double-click the folder named “Installers.”
8. Double-click “mpfull.exe” to begin the installation.

I am attempting to play the videos, but I can only hear sound and I do not see a picture.
1. From the Student Login screen, click “About.”
2. Click “Settings.”
3. Try the following fixes:

a. Check the box that says “Use popup videos” and click OK.
b. If option a does not work check the box that says "Use low resolution videos" and click OK.

When I start Get Ahead Math I receive an OLE Error Message - OR - I am attempting to take a quiz, test, or electronic worksheet but problems are missing, or show up improperly.
1. Certain files may have been deleted or corrupted. A full uninstall and reinstall is required.
2. In the Control Panel, click “Add or Remove Programs.”
3. Click the “Get Ahead Math 3.5” icon.
4. Click “Change/Remove.”
5. After the program is uninstalled, insert Get Ahead Math Disc 1 and follow the prompts.
Note: If your site does not use the Student Management Center to store data, then it will be lost. If this is the case, make a record of your students’ progress before uninstalling Get Ahead Math.
