Get Ahead Math Technology

Get Ahead Math is an intervention supplemental software program supporting both Windows® and Mac® operating systems, and requires internet access.

The Get Ahead Web Hybrid™. Get Ahead Math uses network technology but does not require your site to have networked computers or even a network administrator. Sites simply install the program onto local computers using CD-ROMs. Students run Get Ahead Math from their computer's hard drive but their data is stored on our secure central server using the internet. The local install allows students to view the high-quaility videos without congesting the school's bandwidth. Since data is stored on a central server, data follows students wherever they go. Students can log onto Get Ahead Math from the computer lab one day and the library the next. Additionally, the Get Ahead Web Hybrid allows instructors to view individual and aggregated student reports at the online Student Management Center. Get Ahead Math central server security:
All student's data is stored at Get Ahead Math's secure, redundant central server. This server is part of the secure Cisco-powered, Zero-Downtime Network™ offered by industry leader Rackspace. Read more about the security measures that we employ at Rackspace below.

Infrastructure
Security starts at the data center and includes traditional locks, access controls and biometric surveillance systems. Robust fire suppression, HVAC, power feeds, hot-swappable servers and routers are available in the event of an outage. Background checks and certifications ensure the integrity of all personnel.

Network
Our 100% Cisco Powered Network, built on hardened routers and audited by Cisco, ensure maximum security protection. Our network incorporates a patented Intrusion Detection System to protect against external threats.

Firewalls
We employ both Cisco dedicated hardware Firewalls and software firewalls. Firewalls are managed by security specialists and deployed in a 'private IP' space, while customer servers and routers are segregated in Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN). Network security features also include multi-level privileges, OS lockdowns, centralized authentication and device change logs.

Applications
Our security regimen also addresses the inherent vulnerabilities of applications, including enterprise databases, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Linux, mail services, FTP servers, DNS and streaming media. We implement firewalls and deactivate non-essential features to further protect applications.

Security Patching
By constantly updating our security systems, we ensure optimum protection for our customers. We monitor and address emerging threats, and quickly process and apply new security patches.

Threat Analysis
Rackspace employs advanced technologies to identify and address security weaknesses in Web-oriented servers, applications and activities. We constantly examine all firewalls, load-balancers, SSL accelerators and switches, as well as external developments, for any potential security events.

Security Testing Laboratory
Rackspace subjects all devices to full security testing before they are deployed — including the installation and configuration of the Operating System, the disabling of vulnerable or unneeded services, and advanced vulnerability tests.

Certified Engineers and Security Teams
To ensure a fast response to a security event, qualified personnel are available 24x7x365. Our security specialists have earned Cisco Certified Security Professional, Certified Information System Security Professional and other security certifications.
